With a temperature of -20....with the wind chill it felt like -35, what a great night to go for a 5km run! Since I began the exciting sport of running, earlier this year, I thought it would be a great idea to sign up for my first organized running event. The event is held on New Year's eve at 6pm for The Running Room.
With all the layering I had to do, I ended up looking a cross between Spiderman and a Stalker

This year, there was a complete registration of 210 participants for the event. It was stressed that this wasn't a serious competitive running event, but a fun event enjoyed by running enthusiasts of all types
I had a lot of fun running in this event. I started at the rear of the pack for the beginning of the race and finished somewhere in the top 1/4 of participants. My time was 32.20 which I definitely could have improved upon, with a more structured start and better trail conditions.

Congrats Justin!! Running in -20?
Cannot imagine it, that's when I hit the treadmill. Good for you, I'm sure this will be the first of many for you. Once you start organized races, it's hard to stop. Way to go!
Way to Go! There is a half marathon in February if you're interestede.
