ANNUAL ZOO TRIP

We have been taking Kenzie to the zoo since she was one and this was our best year!! It was way more fun knowing that she really got it and asked lots of questions about the animals. Her most favorite thing was the train ride, which she went on twice. Just after her second ride on the train a huge thunder storm rolled in and drenched the park and all it's visitors. We spent 10 mins under a tree trying to stay dry and then ran into the main food area to wait out the storm. I still wish we had gotten some pictures of the rain, it was awesome!! After the rain finished the sun came back out and we continued exploring. It was a fantastic day, one we won't forget!!

Kenzie thought the seagulls were part of the park!! I was thinking "look at those black clouds".

The train was just leaving the station.

Even after the ride the smile never left her face!

Kenzie's favorite thing about the elephant was the enormous POOP it left on the ground. After asking a hundred times why they pooped she said "that's DISGUSTING".

This is as close to the lions we got. Every year they hide on us and we never get a good look. Maybe we should try going in May when it's not so hot!!

The gorillas were fascinating!! The best was the baby gorilla that started doing the cutest little tricks for the crowds and everyone was busting a gutt. I wanted to take it home with me!

This one was taken in honor of Auntie Jessa and her boyfriend Hugh Jackman!!!

SALMON ARM & CASTLEGAR TRIP

These pictures are actually backwards because we started our trip in Salmon Arm and then Castlegar. It took me way too long to post them, that to switch then all around would have taken another hour and a half. So I'm going to start our adventure backwards. After having an amazing visit with Jared and his family, we went to Castlegar to see mom and dad and attend my aunt and uncles 50th wedding anniversary. Justin and I even got to spend a day in Spokane, minus Mackenzie, and do some fun shopping. We also had time to relax and do some reading, go to movies and visit family and friends. One of my favorite days was going to Syringa and having a weinner roast and then hiking up to Tulip Falls. We got some amazing family pictures on this trip, ones I'll cherish forever!!

We, well I, decided to take the scenic way to Castlegar by going back to Revelstoke and over the ferry to Nakusp and following the Arrow lake to our destination. I made the mistake of NOT turning in Nakusp and ending up at another ferry that would have taken us to Vernon. I stopped at a gas station to find out what I did wrong and when I got back in the van Kenzie said "way to go Columbus!!" Justin is a brillant teacher of the one liners!! So basically I over drove 112 kms. More family time I guess. I still think it was totally worth it!!

One of the main reasons for going to Salmon Arm was to be there to celebrate Jorjgi's 6th birthday! It was so much fun and so great for Kenzie to be with her cousins. We spent the next day at the best waterpark ever right in the down town and then went for lunch at the sweetest and yummiest little taco stand. Later that evening we went for a walk on the warf and enjoyed the cool breeze coming off the lake. The boys one night went out to the movies and Andi and I stayed home to watch a "chick flick". Another night we rented a thriller movie and went on a slurpee run to 7-11. We really appreciated Jared and Andi's hospitallity and can't wait to do it again!!

These are some pics at the waterpark. I really didn't get any shots of the waterpark itself because the kids had too much fun at the park right beside it. We couldn't believe that would rather be hot at the park than cool in the water! Oh well, they had a fabulous time!!

The two hotties or is it Batman and Ironman??

These were some of my favorite pictures of our whole trip!
The only reason they are smiling is because I kept saying "poop". I'll do what ever it takes to get the shot!!

This one is the BEST!!!

EASTER SUNDAY

Easter Sunday best!!

I don't think Kenzie believed that anyone could compare to Santa, but The Easter Bunny proved to be a strong contender!! Dad was there to show her in the right direction.

I loved that she always lifted her beautiful dress up!

No words can describe how much I love my Kenzie!!!

Her favorite things were these cute little hopping bunnies. She giggles evry time she lets them go!!

KENZIE'S 3rd BIRTHDAY

After a super long cold winter, I decided to have Mackenzie's party at the church gym. It was a brilliant idea, those kids ran there little legs off and used up some well cooped up energy. We were so happy to have so many family and friends there to celebrate our sweet Kenzie's special day!

Some yummy adult food and drink!! The funny thing is that I brought chips and juice boxes for the kids, but they prefered the fresca with cranberry juice and the cheese and crackers!!

I brought some glow neclasses and braclets and we turned off the lights and let them run around in the dark. It was hilarious!!! Not one of them was afraid!!!

I was overwhelmed with the gifts Kenzie recieved. They were so lovely and thoughtful and she love every one.

My mom gave Kenzie a beautiful blue "cinderella" dress that she doctored up with puffy sleeves and extra poofiness. After trying it on she complained of itchy arms, so my mom took off the sleeves and the extra poof and now she loves it! Thanks for the effort mom!!!

After realizing it was itchy, she used the sleeve as a sling.

She did however love the new play clothes she got and believe me there were lots!!! She wears them daily and has reduced some already to rags!!

When I was 8 years old, I was captured in a family reunion picture with my finger stuck right up my nose. I was mortified for years but now it cracks me up!!! Now it's your turn Kenzie!!!
