FLOODAPALOOZA 08 - PART 2

So heres part two of the recent "Floodapalooza". The heavy Canada Day rainfall resulted in flooding all over the city. All of these videos were shot at the "Sugar Bowl", which is normally dry and has a trail. Fun to use in the winter for tobagganing........and now I guess, watersports? Aaaaah!
Lethbridge-if you dont like the weather, wait 5 minutes!

Heres a video of some mountain-bikers!

I guess this one is like cross-training? I now proudly present, the new Olympic sport.....Bwimming - Biking and swimming!

This guy just wouldnt give up! Check out the tires on the bike - theyre totally shredded! After he hits the water, check out the guy riding the shopping cart down on the other side- he totaly bites it at the end!

OK, and now that youve enjoyed these videos, the ugly reality.....there are sewer accesses under the water and theyre all swimming in sewer backup!!!!!!!!!! NASTY! Im sure the rashes can be treated with a special cream (um, I mean thats what Ive heard right?)

HAPPY CANADA DAY :(

Ah, Canada Day...just the thought of it brings images of celebration, fireworks, and.......unrelenting rain and floods! The day started off pretty nice until a freak thunderstorm started. Streets and intersections became flooded.

This is the intersection where the Crowsnest Trail offramp meets 13 street north. Look closely at the small shrub under the bridge...its actually an 8 foot tree and sitting next to it is a car...completely submerged - seriously!

This is the intersection by our house. water got very deep and covered our lawn before subsiding.

KARLA'S NEW WASHING MACHINE

When Karla and I got married, she made me promise to buy her one of those modern washing machines - you know, the ones that are more water efficient, power efficient, etc. Well, I went to an estate sale this past weekend and made good on my promise. The seller of this unit promises it to be the most water and power efficient washing machine that Karla will ever own! The previous owner didnt comment on how "new" the machine was - besides, I didnt want to haggle on the price...it cost me a whopping $25!

Now on to a more serious note - after unveiling the new appliance to my dear wife, she went out for "a drive", and hasnt returned?
Has anyone seen my wife?! lol

NEW SLEEK METALLIC DESIGN
WITH WHEELS FOR EASY MOVING

EASY DRAIN HOSE FOR REMOVING THE WATER AFTER USE

AND, AS THE SELLER PROMISED, THIS UNIT IS THE "DELUXE" MODEL THAT IS RUST AND LEAK PROOF (SHOULD SAVE A BUNDLE ON REPAIRS!)

MY NEW HAIR

I was only going to send these pics to mom but I couldn't send them thru hotmail so now everyone gets to see them. This is Stephanie's work!! She is a miracle worker, she lifted my spirits and made me feel beautiful!!!

WINTER ALL OVER AGAIN!!!

Early early Saturday morning it began to snow and it didn't stop till Sunday afternoon!!! This is a nightmare to me!!! Justin says this blizzard will be great moisture for the ground. The only blizzard I want is from Dairy Queen!!!

Mackenzie didn't last too long because she kept pulling off her mittens. I finally brought her inside and made her comfortable on the couch and went back out to finish the shoveling...

and surprise surprise she managed to get her boots back on and decided she hadn't had enough!!

She did after this!!!!!

A PRINCESS PARTY!!!

Our sweet little Mackenzie was turning 2 this year and what better way to celebrate than with a Pink Princess Party!!! I sent out some Royal Invitations to all her princess friends, summoning them to partake in the celebration. Her friends came with curled hair and beautiful dresses. It was a perfect day!!

We were so lucky to have Mama and Papa here for her party. I had 5 catering jobs that week, including one on that day, so it was nice to have some extra hands!

I served Kenzie's favorite popcorn chicken along with chips, strawberries, grapes and cucumbers. I glued butterfly jewels on all the hats and pulled a piece of white tulle out the top. They were adorable!!

These were the gift bags I put together for the girls. They were filled with cute princess stuff and candy.

She looked like a true Princess!!

The girls loved their lunch. For the Queens, I prepared chicken caesar salad and we sipped on fresca with cranberry juice.

Princess Claire.

Princess Haylee.

Princess Tylee.

Princess Erin.

The girls were great during the gift opening!! Kenzie got lovely gifts from her friends!!

Mackenzie recieved a beautiful wallet sized photo album from Danielle and Claire with cute pictures of herself and mommy and daddy. It had the words to "I Am A Child Of God" all through it. After opening it she disappeared into her room to look at it all by herself. I had to go get her so she could open the rest of her gifts! Thanks for such a thoughful gift!!

Kenzie had no problem blowing out the candles!!

Thanks to all of friends and family for making this the "perfect princess party"!!!!
